Arkte Spirit A not-for Profit Private Animal Sanctuary Located in South Florida, USA

Arkte Spirit came into being as a Not-for-profit corporation in South Florida in 2006, a natural extension of its founder's personal convictions, as well as a representation of her life's work. We enjoy 501 (c) (3) federal status, and are registered in the State of Florida as a charitable organization.   We are interested in the following: -Safe housing & husbandry of neglected & unwanted animals (currently up to Class 3 in the State of Florida) -Wildlife education of the general public -Increasing the awareness of the plight of animals

What is Arkte? Also known in ancient Greek as Arktos, referring to the star constellation of the Great Bear.   Symbolically the bear implies power; an instinctual & primal strength that with the inspiration/direction of intelligence or "Spirit", can inspire progressive change, as well as dynamic growth.
